Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Fountaingrove District & Spring Mountain District
Standing atop Spring Summit Ranch you can face west into Fountaingrove District and feel the cooler breeze coming in from the Pacific Ocean. The oceanic influence brings out the elegant red fruit in the Cabernet Sauvignon. Turning east into Spring Mountain District, with the morning sun influencing the climate and you can feel the sheltered inland warmth that ripens the cabernet into the darker, deeper fruit notes. The Foretell One Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon celebrates the best of both terroirs and breaks through restrictive labeling laws to showcase Sam’s blending expertise that captures the mystique of our beloved mountain.
Tasting Notes: Opening with a distinct purity of fruit with red currant, mulberry and boysenberry with layers of black licorice, cedar and black olive the wine is rich and opulent on the palate showing the soft, elegant tannins layered with candied black fruits and a long savory finish. We are so excited for you to try this new release!
Growing Season: A long, warm summer and mild finish to the season
The beginning of the 2019 growing season was defined by copious rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild finish to the season, not without its moments of unpredictability, helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with abundant hang time teasing out great color, structure and soft tannins. Volume is looking to be about average to a little less than average. All in all, exceptional fruit with bright acidity and ample texture promises an amazing vintage.
